Well I have a great Aunt that is buried at this cemetery I dont know where in the cemetery she is located. We attempted to call the cemetery office to ask them and they never answered their phone so we went to the cemetery with the intentions of walking around looking for her. In the process of doing this we noticed how poorly the grounds are kept. There we ruts and bumps all over the place not to mention mounds of dirt where people have been buried for years. Thats would be taken care of I would think. There were flowers scattered in various locations all over the place. Not to mention we never did find my great Aunts gravesite.
I WAS IN TOWN VISITING MY DAUGHTERS. I CALLED WEBBER FUNERAL HOME, WHERE MY AUNT HAD BEEN WHEN SHE DIED OCT. 1994. HE TOLD ME SHE WAS BURIED AT VALLEY VIEW... HE GAVE ME THEIR NUMBER. I CALLED EARLY AFTERNOON ON WEDNESDAY, YESTERDAY AND LEFT THREE MESSAGES PLEADING FOR THEM TO CALL ME AS I WANTED SO BADLY TO GO WITH MY DAUGHTERS TO VISIT MY AUNTS GRAVE. MY DAUGHTERS LIVE IN GREENVILLE, IL. I LIVE IN INDIANA. WE DROVE AN HOUR TO GET TO THE CEMETARY, A CAR WAS IN FRONT OF THE OFFICE...BUT NO ONE CAME TO THE DOOR. WE WALKED FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS IN THE COLD LOOKING FOR HER GRAVE. HAD NO IDEA, AND ALL WE WANTED TO KNOW WAS HER LOT NUMBER. THE CEMETARY HAD GRAVES THAT LOOKED NEW, BUT THE DATES OF DEATH WERE VERY OLD. VERY UNKEPT. WE WERE SO DISSAPOINTED, WHY COULD WE NOT GET A HOLD OF THEM? I DO NOT KNOW. BUT WE FELT THEY WERE COLD AND INCONSIDERATE, A NEW SYSTEM IS INDEED NEEDED. THAT PLACE IS QUITE DIS-ORGANIZED. LEAST, THEY COULD OF CALLED ME. IT WAS A WEEK-DAY AFTER ALL. AND I DID CALL FROM NOON THAT DAY UP TO THE TIME WE WERE OUTSIDE THE OFFICE DOOR. HOW SAD FOR THOSE WHO JUST WANT TO SEE THEIR LOVED ONES GRAVE.
