While not perfect, Apple Cleaners is the best cleaners in the Glen-Ed area. Their prices are a bit high but they really do take care of garments and do a quality job cleaning most of the time. Like every cleaners, they occasionally miss a spot or a button comes off of a dress shirt. They always take responsibility for errors or oversights and do a great job on most of the garments we send to them. Especially convenient is their pickup and delivery service which makes the higher cost completely worth it. I've really been pleased with the consistency of Apple Cleaners over the years.
Apple Cleaners in Edwardsville deserves 0 stars. I took a brand new comforter to have laundered - two weeks later it was returned with a large dry cleaning stain on it. In the weeks since I have met the rudest employee and worst customer service of any business. They simply don't care. Don't take a gamble - find another dry cleaner.
Don't ask for starch because if you do you may as well ask for them to press your shirts as well. I took shirts there 3 times and 3 times asked for heavy starch. To me heavy is the darn shirt should crunch when you feel it and put it on. Out of 4 shirts just picked up one had some starch in it but looked like it wasn't pressed at all. The other 3 had no starch and they didn't look pressed either.
No idea what the negative reviews are all about. I have taken uniforms there for dry cleaning for years and NEVER EVER had a problem. Courteous at the counter, clothes always come back on time and clean and they even heat seal the bottom of garment bags - a nice touch. An email tells me when my order is ready and I swing by. More cost effective than other dry cleaners in the metro east, I've tried them all. I'm over 50 and welcome a good value. Good place.
